Services

ABC Behavior Development is a developmental learning center that specializes in developing tailored programs to individuals of all ages with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) and related disabilities. ABC’s team is composed of exceptional professionals that are highly trained and experience to help your child. Our Team will help your child achieve increased communication skills, development of appropriate play and social skills, help with fine and gross motor skills, help with potty training, pre-academic and academic skill development amongst other skills.

EIBI, DTT, NET, Verbal Behavior Approach, and PRT

At ABC we individually tailor our treatment plans to each of our students. Since there is no one-size-fits-all formula, and all students are different, we customize and implement various ABA methodologies to further the development of each student. Research supports that the earlier and sooner a child receives ABA therapeutic services, the more successful the interventions will be for him or her. Please contact us directly to schedule a complimentary pre-assessment interview.

Academic Skills through ABA principles / Shadowing

ABC’s Team provides shadowing services for students in the classroom environment. Nowadays, there is an increasing number of public and private schools that allow ABA shadows to assist within a student’s classroom. Our shadowing services provide the least restrictive amount of help to a student so that in the future, he or she will function independently or with the least amount of assistance in the classroom environment. As always, we work in tandem with your child’s teachers and other interdisciplinary team members to affect the best possible assistance within a student’s classroom.

Social skills learning

ABC provides students with social skills protocols individually tailored to their age and functioning level. Weekend groups are created where students come to ABC and engage in reinforcing peer activities to facilitate peer initiation, turn taking, appropriate play, and other functional skills included in appropriate socialization skills for your child.

ABA Respite Care (Special needs Child Sitting)

ABC’s Team provides respite care services in the home and clinic environment. Our ABA Team consists of highly qualified, Level 2 background certified therapists who have been hand-picked and personally trained by our supervisors or BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts). Parents and supervisors meet to review all new students and to establish an ABA treatment plan. (this kind of makes it seem like parents meet new students and help develop a tx plan. Maybe re-word the sentence?) This allows us to offer respite care as opposed to run-of-the-mill babysitting services. In other words, while parents enjoy some much-needed time off, students benefit from a continuity of ABA services that encourage and promote language through requesting, reinforcing desired behaviors, and reducing maladaptive ones.

RBT Trainings

ABC believes in engaging our very own therapists in superior trainings and professional development. Thus, we follow the BACB’s (Board Analyst Certification Board) RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) task analysis and training materials. Live 40 hour RBT Trainings are administered by a BCBA to support BACB’s requirements. These trainings take place every three months and is the total fee is $300, inclusive. Please be advised that trainees are required to attend all 40 training hours in order to receive the RBT Certificate of Completion.

Staff/Teacher Trainings

We have been invited to participate in staff and teacher training courses at various private and public educational institutions. ABC will custom tailor all trainings to the expressed needs of each audience. For instance, we have conducted trainings for school teachers on antecedent strategies or how to prevent problem behaviors in the classroom, group contingencies or how to manage teenagers in following instructions given, and trainings on prevalence and treatment of ASD for early educators.

ABC is currently working diligently on dissemination of ABA techniques to non-English speaking countries. We are currently in discussion to bring training for para-professionals in other countries such as Uruguay and South America.
